Booking Experts can now cap how many nights an owner books for themselves

Booking Experts has added a limit that holiday park operators have been asking about for a long time. Owner agreements now support a maximum number of nights an owner may book within a set timeframe, and the cap applies to both discount budgets and pool point budgets, across back office bookings and bookings an owner makes in the owner portal.

If you run a park where owners have usage rights on their own unit or on a pool, you know the problem. Peak weeks get taken by owners, the commercial calendar gets thinner, and the only control available was a conversation. Now the contract can carry the number.

The change landed in the week 42 update, published on 20 October.

iiQ-Check joins the app store

The other item worth separating out is a new app store integration with iiQ-Check for review management. It automates guest surveys and uses booking and guest data from Booking Experts to drive the sending, with feedback coming back into one place.

That is the fourth category of app Booking Experts has added this month, after the Danish language and Visma e-conomic accounting work and the barrier access, power pedestal and camper insurance apps. The pattern is clear enough: the platform is being filled in market by market and function by function, rather than through one large release.

The rest of week 42

Several items help the guest side of a booking. The checkout portal and the guest portal now support browser autofill, so personal, address and contact details populate from saved information instead of being typed again. Guests can see the amenities of their booked accommodation type in the guest portal, listed alongside the existing description, rather than having to go back to the website.

Booking confirmation templates can now carry PDF attachments. Upload the document once to the template and it goes out with every confirmation, which covers park rules, arrival instructions and terms without a separate mailing.

On the owner side, periodic costs can now have an internal name as well as a public description. The internal label shows in overviews and exports while the guest or owner facing wording stays separate, which helps when your bookkeeping name for a cost is not the one you want an owner to read.

The German checkout portal now distinguishes a promotional discount code, labelled Rabatt, from a payment voucher, labelled Gutschein. Small, but German guests were entering one in the field meant for the other.

What this means in practice

Two of these are worth acting on. The owner night cap needs a decision per agreement type before it does anything, so it is a configuration job rather than a feature that arrives working. And the PDF attachment on confirmations will quietly replace a pre arrival email at some parks, which is worth checking against whatever automation already sends one, so guests do not get the same document twice.

Booking Experts did not say whether the owner night limits are available on every plan or whether existing agreements need to be re-saved for the limit to apply. Worth confirming with support before you promise an owner committee a number.
