OwnerRez connects Localbird, an experiences concierge that pays the host 10%

OwnerRez has added an integration with Localbird, a guest-facing concierge that sells local experiences and services and pays the host a commission on each booking.
Localbird covers airport transfers, private chefs, tours and wellness services. It handles the guest request, the booking, the payment and the coordination with the local provider. The host does not arrange anything. Localbird is free for hosts to use, and hosts earn 10% of each booking.
How the integration works
Four pieces, and the first is the one to look at closely.
Automated guest messaging introduces Localbird to guests at set points, from booking through check-in and into the stay, and it does this inside existing OwnerRez conversations rather than from a separate channel.
Guests then land on a guest page branded for the host, so it reads as part of the host's own offering rather than a third party's.
Hosts get an app for managing that page: choosing which experiences appear, and tracking engagement, bookings and commissions.
Underneath, properties, reservations and guest information sync between OwnerRez and Localbird, so the concierge knows who is arriving and when.
Setup runs through a Localbird onboarding page, with an OwnerRez support article covering the configuration.
What is not stated
Regional coverage, which for an experiences marketplace is the whole question. A concierge that books private chefs and airport transfers only works where it has providers under contract, and the announcement names no countries, cities or coverage areas. Before you turn on messaging that promises guests a 24/7 concierge, check that Localbird actually has supply in your market.
The 10% is also worth reading carefully. It is a commission on bookings made through Localbird, not a share of anything you were already earning, so it is incremental by definition. Whether it amounts to much depends entirely on how many guests book, which no one can tell you yet.
The thing to weigh
The automated messaging is both the strongest and the riskiest part. It is what makes the revenue happen, because a concierge nobody is told about earns nothing. It also means a third party's promotions start appearing in the message thread that guests associate with you, at booking, at check-in and mid-stay.
Hosts who have spent years tuning their message templates to sound like a person rather than a funnel should read the default copy before switching it on, and cut the touchpoints back to one or two if it reads like marketing. Guest messaging is a finite resource. Spending it on upsells has a cost that does not show up in a commission report.
Context
This is OwnerRez's second partner integration in three days, after HostIQ on 20 October, and it follows SafeGuest and Inhaven Stay in September. The pattern is consistent: OwnerRez is building out a partner layer rather than shipping these capabilities itself, which keeps its own product narrow and pushes the evaluation work onto hosts.
That is a defensible way to run a PMS. It does mean the useful question is no longer whether OwnerRez has a feature, but which of its partners is worth your time.
