Hostify has added a Health Status tab for Booking.com listings, so the state of a connection can be checked inside Hostify rather than by logging into the extranet. It went live on 9 October and applies to Booking.com single units.

The tab pulls together seven things. Connectivity shows any pending actions sitting between Hostify and Booking.com. Listing status says whether the property is live and taking bookings, and how long it has been in that state. Risk level flags potential availability problems that could cost bookings. Bookable period shows how far ahead guests can book and the latest date currently open on Booking.com. Property information compares the property name and currency held in Hostify against what Booking.com reports. Reservation data gives gross, cancelled and net reservation counts. And a last update stamp says when Hostify last pulled the data.

Why the boring ones matter most

Bookable period and the name and currency comparison are the two to watch, and they are the two that sound least interesting.

A bookable window that has quietly closed is one of the more expensive silent failures in distribution. The listing stays live, the connection reports healthy, and the property simply stops appearing for dates past a certain point. Nobody notices until somebody asks why next spring looks empty. Surfacing the latest open date as a number you can glance at is a genuinely useful thing to have on a dashboard.

The currency check is the same kind of problem. A mismatch between the currency in the PMS and the currency Booking.com holds is not a cosmetic difference, it is a pricing error that applies to every rate you push until it is found.

The reservation counts are more of a sanity check than a report. Gross against net tells you whether cancellations are running at a rate worth investigating, but Hostify is not pitching this as analytics.

It tells you, it does not fix it

The limit of this release is that it is a read-only view. Hostify lists the metrics and says nothing about actions, so when the tab flags a pending connectivity action or a risk, the fix is still a trip to the extranet.

That is a real difference from where some competitors have gone. Hostaway moved Booking.com rate plan setup, contracting and licence details out of the extranet and into the PMS at the end of September. Mews put SiteMinder's channel manager inside Mews Operations in August. The direction of travel across the category is to absorb the channel's own admin, not just report on it. A diagnostics tab is a step onto that road rather than the destination.

The single-unit scope is the other thing to note. Operators running multi-unit property types on Booking.com, which includes most aparthotel and serviced apartment inventory, are not covered by this yet, and Hostify has not said whether they will be.

Practically

If you run Booking.com through Hostify, the useful habit is a weekly look at bookable period and listing status across your units, which is a thirty second job that catches the failures nobody gets an alert about. The rest of the tab is reference data you will only want when something has already gone wrong.

Hostify gave no plan requirement or pricing for the tab, so treat it as available on your current plan until told otherwise.
