Mews shipped six changes to Mews Operations between 7 and 15 October 2026. None got a press release, and none is big enough to chase on its own. Together they are worth ten minutes of your morning, because two of them change numbers you report on and one changes what happens when you cut a guest a second key.

All six are tagged as improvements rather than new features in the Mews release notes. That undersells at least one of them.

Rates and revenue

You can now cap how many rooms a rate sells. Until this release a rate in Mews was either open or closed. Now you can set a sell limit on a rate or a rate group, for a single day or a date range, and the rate stops selling once it reaches that number. You can also set the limit by room category, so a discounted rate cannot eat into your best room types on a high demand night.

The obvious use is staff and friends-and-family rates: allow a handful in high season, open it up in low season, and stop closing the rate by hand every time demand picks up. Limits are added in Settings without contacting Mews.

One limitation matters. Sell limits apply in Mews Operations, the Mews Booking Engine and the Mews API only. They do not apply in other channel managers or booking engines yet. If you sell that rate through a channel connected outside Mews, the cap will not hold there, so treat this as a control on your direct and Mews-connected business rather than a true stop sell.

Clearing price and occupancy overrides is now a bulk action. In the Revenue workspace you can select a date range and clear overrides across all of it at once, instead of opening each day in turn. Filters for day of week, override type and space category mean you can strip out every weekend occupancy override in November and leave the weekday ones untouched.

Mews RMS customers can set a different price for every date in one bulk edit. Bulk price editing used to apply one value across a whole range. Now each date in the range can take its own custom price or its own RMS price hierarchy. Bulk price editing is available to all users. Setting pricing hierarchies is only for Mews RMS customers.

Front desk

A duplicate key no longer kills the guest's working key. Previously, issuing a key invalidated every key issued before it. That is the right behaviour when a key is lost and the wrong one when a guest leaves a card in the room and comes to reception for a spare. Now you choose. A new key cancels the earlier ones as before, and a duplicate leaves them all active. It works for digital keys too, and Mews tells you when the guest already has one.

A small change, but it removes a daily irritation at reception and a whole category of "my key stopped working" returns to the desk.

Reservations can be edited without leaving the Timeline. A table view with filtering, sorting and search replaces the old list, and a side panel lets you open and update a reservation from the Timeline or the Reservation Overview. The reason to care is group blocks. The old list became unusable at size, and this is aimed squarely at that.

Reporting

Your no-show figures have been wrong, and now they are not. This is the item to read twice.

When an Inquired or Optional reservation passed its arrival date, Mews cancelled it as "No show", with the same reason as a confirmed guest who genuinely failed to arrive. Those are not the same event, and counting them together inflated the no-show figures in your Reservation report.

From this release, expired Inquired and Optional reservations cancel as "Confirmation missed". Confirmed reservations that do not arrive still cancel as "No show". Cancellation timing has not changed, and nothing is retroactive: reservations cancelled before the release keep the reason they were given at the time.

Two consequences worth planning for. If you track no-show rate as a KPI, expect it to fall, and expect the fall to be a measurement correction rather than an operational win. And if you compare this month with last month, you are comparing two different definitions of the same word. To see the split, include the Cancelled state in your Reservation report filter and group by cancellation reason.

What it adds up to

Nothing here carries a deadline or forces a migration. The one task worth doing deliberately is looking at your no-show reporting before somebody above you asks why the number moved. After that, sell limits are the change most likely to save a revenue manager real time, with the channel caveat above kept firmly in mind.
