Content sync
The part of a channel connection that pushes a property's descriptive listing data to an OTA: titles, descriptions, amenities, photos, room and bed configuration, house rules and booking settings.
It is worth separating in your head from ARI sync, which pushes availability, rates and inventory. Most PMS and channel manager connections let you run one, the other, or both, and the setting is usually called something like "sync scope" or "sync mode".
Why the distinction matters operationally: if content sync stops while ARI sync keeps running, nothing visibly breaks. Bookings still arrive, the calendar stays accurate and prices update. But every content change you make in the PMS stays in the PMS, and the OTA keeps showing the old version until someone notices.
Sync scope is most likely to shift when a listing is disconnected and reconnected, when a channel unlinks a property on its own side, or when the channel authorisation is renewed. Checking the setting after any of those is a sensible habit whatever system you run.
Where content sync is switched on in full, the PMS is normally treated as the source of truth, so turning it back on can overwrite edits made directly in the OTA's own extranet.
