Occupancy Rate = Rooms Sold / Total Available Rooms × 100
Benchmarks
Global average hotel occupancy typically ranges from 60-70%, with significant variation by market, season and property type. Short-term rental occupancy is usually lower and more seasonal. Occupancy is the volume half of RevPAR and the first number on any PMS dashboard.
