Booking Experts adds a DATEV export for German accounting and puts guest names on access cards

Booking Experts' week 39 release adds a DATEV Connector to its app store, aimed squarely at parks in German-speaking markets, and changes how access control cards are generated so each person on a booking can have their own. The release went out on 29 September 2026.
Neither change is large. Both are the kind of thing that saves a specific team a specific recurring task, which is usually what the weekly digests contain.
The DATEV Connector
DATEV is the accounting standard most German tax advisers and bookkeepers work in, and getting booking data into it has historically meant manual re-entry or a custom export.
The new app generates DATEV import files for bookings and PDF receipts. You can export booking data from Booking Experts in one click and either convert it into a DATEV-compatible file or transfer it directly to the DATEV platform. Booking Experts describes it as built for the DACH region.
The wording matters here. A one-click export is not a continuous sync. Somebody still decides when to run it, and if a booking is amended after an export has gone across, reconciling that is a manual job. Worth checking how your bookkeeper wants to handle amendments before you change the month-end routine.
The other thing to confirm is the file format itself. DATEV setups vary between practices, and "DATEV-compatible" covers several possible formats. Send a test export to your tax adviser and have them load it before you commit to the workflow.
Personalised access control cards
The access control integration can now generate a card for each person on a reservation's guest list rather than one per booking, pulling the guest's name, date of birth and stay dates straight from the reservation.
For a park with facilities where entry is controlled per person, such as a pool or a wellness area, this removes a re-typing step and cuts a class of error where the wrong name ends up on a card.
It also means dates of birth are now being copied onto access media. That is not a problem in itself, since the park already holds the data, but if your privacy documentation describes what is printed on or stored against an access card, it needs updating. Check how long card records persist after checkout as well.
The rest of the release
The guest portal now shows the full photo carousel for the accommodation type booked, where previously a reservation page displayed a single image. Reservation widgets across the portal move to an updated card design.
On the operations side, grouped accommodations now display a cluster label on reservation and booking screens, so staff can tell an individual object from a cluster. Rentable type exports gain two columns: whether late checkout is available, and the configured checkout time.
The Nora chat widget is now reachable from the Spanish language interface, which previously it was not.
What it means for operators
If you run a park in Germany, Austria or Switzerland, the DATEV connector is the item to act on, and the action is a test export rather than an install. If you do not, none of this needs anything from you beyond knowing the cluster label exists the next time a colleague asks why a booking screen looks different.
No pricing was published for the DATEV Connector. App store apps at Booking Experts are not uniformly free, so ask before assuming it is included.
