A Manila casino resort puts Daylight PMS on top of Infrasys, 18 months after the POS went in

Shiji has gone live with Daylight PMS at New Coast Hotel Manila, part of LaVie Resort and Casino, a five-star integrated resort in the Philippine capital. The property already ran Shiji's Infrasys POS across its food and beverage outlets, rolled out on 1 April 2025, so this is the second system from the same vendor rather than a first deal.
That sequence is the interesting part. LaVie bought the POS, lived with it for roughly 18 months, then handed over the property management system too. Integrated resorts are among the harder environments to run on one stack, with multiple dining venues, event spaces, wellness facilities and gaming operations all generating charges that have to land somewhere coherent.
The single-vendor argument, from the customer's side
Albie Bokingkito, Jr., assistant vice president for information technology at the resort, was explicit about the reasoning. "The mission to unify all hotel systems under a single vendor mirrors the exact purpose of Daylight: bringing every department closer together so teams can focus on guests instead of navigating disconnected tools."
He added that the resort wanted "a single partner who could support our operations and help us streamline the way we work."
Joaquin Martinez, Shiji's general manager for the Philippines, put the same point in market terms. "For integrated resorts, success depends on the ability to bring together multiple departments, venues, and services under a single technology ecosystem."
On the product itself, Shiji cites a unified guest profile, a micro-service architecture for integrations and an event-driven platform. The resort's existing Infrasys deployment covers restaurants, bars, poolside venues and room service.
What is not in the release
No figures. The announcement gives no room count, no measured improvement in check-in times or labour hours, no contract length and no commercial terms. "Operational agility" and "a new benchmark" are the vendor's words, not outcomes anyone has reported.
That is normal for a go-live release, but it is worth saying plainly, because single-vendor consolidation is a trade and the release only describes one side of it. Putting PMS and POS with the same supplier does buy you tighter integration, one support relationship and one roadmap to track. It also concentrates risk: pricing leverage at renewal moves toward the vendor, and an outage or a roadmap decision you dislike affects the front desk and the restaurants at the same time.
Operators weighing a similar move should ask what the integration actually delivers that a certified third-party connection would not. Shiji's own answer is the unified guest profile, which is the strongest version of the argument, since a genuinely shared profile across front office and F&B is hard to replicate across vendors.
The regional picture
Asia Pacific has been Shiji's most visible territory this autumn. The company announced Likuri Island Resort in Fiji on Daylight PMS on 19 October, and formally launched Meridian Experiences, its spa, golf and activities system, on 27 October. Casino and resort properties with heavy ancillary operations are exactly the profile Meridian is aimed at, so expect that product to follow into properties like this one.
Shiji says its platform now serves more than 91,000 hotels worldwide and that it employs over 5,000 people.
LaVie Resort and Casino, formerly New Coast Hotel Manila, is a five-star property in central Manila with accommodation, dining, wellness and entertainment facilities.
