Two-Way Sync
Two-way sync (or two-way integration) describes a connection between a PMS and a channel or third-party tool where data flows in both directions: rates and availability go out, and reservations, modifications and cancellations come back in automatically.
Why it matters
A one-way connection that only pushes availability still requires staff to enter incoming bookings by hand, which is where double bookings come from. Two-way sync is the baseline operators should expect from any channel manager or OTA connection.
What to check
- Does the sync cover modifications and cancellations, not just new bookings?
- How fast is it? Minutes matter during high-demand periods.
- Is the integration built and maintained by the PMS vendor or by a third party?
