Angel of the Winds, a casino resort in Arlington, Washington, has moved its property management, reservations and point of sale onto Agilysys systems. The property reports more bookings and, more concretely, the disappearance of weekend check-in queues.

Agilysys announced the deployment on 22 September 2026.

The property

Angel of the Winds sits north of Seattle. It runs a 125-room hotel alongside six restaurants, five bars, an event centre and an upscale RV resort. That mix is the reason the deployment is broader than a PMS swap: a property with eleven food and beverage outlets and an RV resort has more moving parts than room nights.

The systems in place are Agilysys Versa PMS, Agilysys Book for reservations, InfoGenesis 12UX for point of sale, IG OnDemand and IG Kiosk.

What the property reports

Hotel manager Lori Swehla gave three specifics.

On demand: "Our property has seen a significant increase in bookings since converting to Agilysys for property management and reservations."

On the front desk: "The long lines we typically experience at check-in time on weekends have all but vanished since we introduced self-service check-in kiosks."

On training: "Staff members have been able to learn Agilysys Versa PMS and create reservations with as little as one day of training."

Andy Snider, IT operations manager, reported that point of sale operations ran faster once hardware was updated and that a kiosk at the pool has been popular for walk-up orders.

Darren Student, vice president of sales at Agilysys, said the technologies "will continue to support evolving operational needs across the property."

Reading the claims

The check-in queue claim is the most credible of the three, because it names a specific cause and a specific situation. Self-service kiosks absorbing weekend arrival peaks is a well-understood mechanism, and weekend check-in at a casino resort is exactly when a front desk gets overwhelmed.

The booking increase claim is looser. No figure was given, no time period, and no attempt to separate the system change from everything else that affects demand at a casino property. Take it as the property being happy rather than as evidence that a PMS drives occupancy.

The one-day training claim is worth noting for a different reason. Versa is Agilysys' longer-established PMS rather than its newest cloud product, and quick training on a familiar interface is one of the practical reasons properties stay with established systems. Whether that is a strength or a sign of a dated interface depends on what else you need the system to do.

Snider's comment that point of sale ran faster "once the hardware was updated" is the quiet caveat in the release. Part of what improved here was hardware, not software.

What it means for operators

For gaming and resort properties, the useful takeaway is the breadth rather than the brand. Angel of the Winds consolidated rooms, reservations, restaurants, bars and an RV resort onto one vendor's stack, and the reported wins came from the pieces that touch guests directly: kiosks at check-in and a kiosk at the pool.

Agilysys has been building out its casino gaming position, including its acquisition of Gaming Hospitality Solutions earlier this month. A customer announcement of this shape is consistent with that push.

Contract terms and pricing were not disclosed.
