What is a PMS?
A PMS (Property Management System) is the core software a hotel, hostel, serviced apartment or short-term rental business runs on. It holds the reservations, the rooms or units, the rates, the guest profiles and the guest bills, and it is the system the front desk, housekeeping and the back office work from every day.
Everything else in a property's tech stack plugs into the PMS: the channel manager that talks to Booking.com and Airbnb, the booking engine on the property's own website, the payment terminal at the desk, the door locks, the revenue management tool, the accounting export.
The Biggest PMS Vendors
The market is fragmented, private and consolidating. A handful of vendors have pulled ahead:

How Do PMS Vendors Make Money?
