HotelKey has named four senior leaders: a chief financial officer, two regional vice presidents for Asia-Pacific and for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and a head of marketing. The announcement went out from Carrollton, Texas on 24 October.

Taken together it reads less like a routine reshuffle and more like a company getting itself ready to sell outside the United States.

Who joins

Julie Arrowsmith becomes Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, covering financial strategy, planning and reporting. She was previously both CFO and CEO of G6 Hospitality, the owner of Motel 6 and Studio 6, and has more than 25 years in hospitality finance. She started in public accounting at Deloitte.

Craig Chait takes Asia-Pacific as Vice President, leading go-to-market strategy, regional sales and partnerships. He has 30 years in hospitality technology, with senior roles at Oracle Hospitality, Xn protel and Planet, and earlier hotel operations experience at Accor and Marriott.

Adnan Malik takes EMEA as Vice President, responsible for market penetration, building the regional team and client relationships. He has more than 20 years across London's luxury hotel segment, large-scale property operations and enterprise software, and was previously managing director of a global hospitality technology firm and chief executive of an international hotel brand.

Laura Atallah becomes Head of Marketing, covering brand positioning, demand generation and go-to-market. She has more than 20 years in B2B software and technology marketing, including directing campaigns at Yardi, where the release says one product launch brought in more than 1,000 owner and operator clients in its first year.

Aditya Thyagarajan, HotelKey's co-founder and president, said the company is "thrilled to formally introduce these accomplished leaders," with Arrowsmith and Atallah anchoring the finance and marketing strategies while Chait and Malik lead APAC and EMEA.

The release does not say whether these are external hires or internal promotions, and gives no start dates.

The number worth noticing

HotelKey says it has more than 25,000 contracted hotels, with more than 15,000 live on its Hospitality Management Platform. Its customer base includes 10 enterprise hotel chains and more than 800 independent properties. No room count is given.

That gap between contracted and live is around 10,000 properties. HotelKey has built its reputation on deployment speed, publishing a piece in July 2026 arguing that the future of hotel technology is the ability to deploy more than 100 hotels a week. A backlog of that size is the thing a new CFO and new regional heads actually get measured on, and it is the figure to watch in the company's next announcement.

What it means for operators

The regional hires matter more than the titles suggest. HotelKey's strength has been US chain and economy to midscale deployments at volume. Selling in EMEA and APAC means multi-currency, local fiscal and invoicing rules, local payment schemes and a lot of regional integrations, and it means competing against vendors with 20 years of local reference sites.

It is telling that Chait arrives from Oracle Hospitality, Xn protel and Planet. HotelKey has hired someone who knows how those systems are sold and where their customers are unhappy.

If you are a non-US operator who looked at HotelKey before and found the local pieces missing, this is the moment to ask again, with specifics: fiscal compliance in your country, your payment provider, and which reference properties are live in your region rather than contracted. If you are a US customer waiting on an implementation, the question is whether international expansion gets resourced ahead of that queue.
