Hostfully has launched Hostfully Accounting, a module that brings reservation reconciliation, expenses, owner statements and owner payments inside the platform. It is available in the United States and Canada only.
The launch was announced on 15 September 2026.
What it does
The module covers the month-end work that most property managers currently do somewhere else. Hostfully lists five capabilities: reconciling reservation revenue against deposits, categorising and managing expenses, creating owner statements and reports, paying owners and vendors by ACH, and supporting trust accounting and co-host models.
The ACH payments piece and the trust accounting support are the two that separate this from a basic reporting screen. Paying owners by ACH from inside the system removes a step that usually means exporting a file and loading it into a bank portal. Trust accounting support matters for managers in states where client funds must be held and reconciled separately, which is a legal requirement rather than a preference.
Hostfully has stated the regional limit clearly: the module is currently available in the US and Canada. Managers in Europe, the UK and elsewhere do not get it for now, and no timeline was given for other markets. The announcement did not say which plan or tier it lands on, or whether it carries an additional charge.
What it means for operators
Property management accounting is the least glamorous problem in short-term rentals and one of the most expensive to get wrong. Most managers of any size run a PMS for operations and something else for the books, then spend the first week of every month reconciling the two. Anything that shortens that is worth a look.
Whether it is worth a move is a different question, and the honest answer is that it depends on how complicated your owner agreements are. Owner statements are where the complexity lives in this business. Different commission structures per owner, split short and long stay rates, pass-through taxes, deductions for maintenance, co-host arrangements where two parties split the same booking. A module that handles the common cases cleanly but cannot express your particular contract is worse than the spreadsheet you have now, because you end up maintaining both.
The practical test before committing is not a demo. It is taking your three most awkward owner agreements and asking whether the module can produce a correct statement for each of them without manual adjustment afterwards.
The other thing to check is what happens at the boundary with your existing accounting software. Most managers still need a general ledger, and the announcement does not say how Hostfully Accounting hands off to one. If it exports cleanly to what your accountant uses, this replaces a painful middle step. If it does not, it becomes a third system rather than a replacement for the second.
There is nothing here that forces a change or sets a deadline. Existing Hostfully customers can carry on as they are. This is a new module to evaluate, not a migration to plan.
