Hostfully adds three marketplace integrations in one day, led by compliance tracking

Hostfully published three new marketplace integrations on 30 September. Taken together they say something about where short-term rental software is competing now, and the compliance one is the most consequential.

HostReady, for licences and ordinances

HostReady is a compliance system for short-term rental portfolios. Connect it to Hostfully and it imports your properties, then tracks licence status, zoning and tax requirements per property, sends renewal reminders, and monitors local rule changes. Hostfully puts the coverage at more than 850 markets.

This is the integration that earns attention. Licence renewal and ordinance drift are the quiet operational risk in this business: nobody loses a portfolio over a slow check-in, and people do lose listings over an expired permit or a rule change nobody read. Automating the watching is genuinely useful.

Two caveats. The 850 markets are not named, and the product framing points at the US, so operators elsewhere should confirm their own city is actually covered before assuming anything. And compliance monitoring tells you a rule changed. It does not file anything for you.

Worth noting that Lodgify added the same partner to its own marketplace on 16 September, two weeks earlier. HostReady is turning up in multiple property management marketplaces in quick succession, which is usually what the start of a category looks like.

Strly, for waivers and guest verification

Strly provides damage waiver protection and guest verification on reservations. Hostfully describes it as having no monthly costs, no listing fees, no contracts and no hidden charges, and says guest verification is free.

Read that carefully. If the manager pays nothing and verification is free, the waiver is being paid for somewhere, and in this product category that somewhere is normally a fee attached to the guest's booking. The note does not say who pays, what the waiver covers, or what the claim process looks like. Those are the three questions to ask before switching it on, because a charge appearing on a guest's reservation is your problem at the front desk regardless of whose product it is.

There is also a straightforward error in Hostfully's own announcement: the headline says Strly while the body text says "our new integration with IntelliHost." Confirm which product you are actually enabling.

CartStack, for abandoned bookings

CartStack sends automated personalised emails to visitors who start a reservation on your direct booking site and do not finish it. The pitch is recapturing direct revenue that otherwise leaks to the channels.

Established tactic, and it works on sites with enough direct traffic to make the maths move. On a small portfolio where direct bookings arrive in single digits each week, a recovery tool has very little to recover. No pricing is stated.

What the batch tells you

Three one-paragraph announcements, all on the same day, none with pricing. That is a marketplace release rather than a product release, and marketplace releases are how a platform signals breadth without building anything itself.

The useful signal is the mix. Compliance, damage protection and direct booking recovery are all risk and revenue around the edges of the reservation rather than features inside it. The same pattern showed up at OwnerRez in late September. Platforms are competing on the partner shelf, and the practical consequence for managers is more switches to evaluate, each with its own per-stay or per-month cost, and no vendor doing that arithmetic for you.

Hostfully's last substantial first-party release was its own accounting module on 15 September, which is available in the US and Canada.
