Hospitable will now pay your cleaners, through a Tasks app they open from an invite link

Hospitable has added payments to its teammate workflow. You can now invite cleaners and other teammates into Hospitable, track their task progress, and pay them through the platform once the work is done.

The delivery mechanism is the part worth noting. Teammates use the Hospitable Tasks app, which is a web app they open directly from their invite link on any device. There is nothing to download and no app store step.

For anyone who has tried to get a cleaning team onto a new system, that removes the step where adoption usually dies. A cleaner who has to install an app, create an account and remember a password is a cleaner who goes back to WhatsApp.

What it covers

Teammates can see the jobs assigned to them and update progress as they go. Managers invite them, watch the progress, and release payment after completion.

This lands alongside the backup teammate cascade Hospitable shipped on 2 October, where a declined task automatically moves down a list of named fallbacks. Taken together, the turnover workflow now covers assignment, reassignment, progress and payment in one place. That previously meant a scheduling tool, a messaging thread and a bank transfer.

What Hospitable has not said

The changelog entry gives no pricing, names no plan or tier, and states no supported countries or currencies. For a payments feature those are the three things that decide whether you can actually use it, so treat availability as unconfirmed until you check your own account.

There is also no detail on payment setup, what the funding source is, how payouts are timed, or whether a fee applies per payment. Nothing is said about tax documentation for the people being paid, which in the US becomes a real question once you are the party issuing payment.

What it means for operators

Paying cleaners is a small recurring administrative cost that scales badly. Ten properties and three cleaners is a manageable Friday afternoon. Forty properties and a rotating pool is not, and the errors are the kind people remember.

Consolidating payment with the task record also fixes a quieter problem, which is proving what was paid for which turnover when somebody disputes it. If the payment is attached to the task, the argument ends faster.

The caution is the one that applies to every payments feature inside an operations tool. You are adding a money-movement dependency to your PMS vendor. Before you move cleaning payroll onto it, find out the fees, the settlement timing, and what happens to in-flight payments if you leave.

If you operate outside the US, country and currency coverage is worth asking Hospitable about directly before you plan around this.
