Host review

The review a host or property manager writes about a guest after a stay, as opposed to the review the guest writes about the property.

On Airbnb and most short-term rental platforms, host reviews are published on the guest's profile and are the main record the next operator reads when deciding whether to accept a booking request. Reviews are usually double-blind: neither side sees what the other wrote until both have submitted, or the review window closes (14 days on Airbnb). Once live, a review generally cannot be edited.

Several PMSes can now generate and submit host reviews automatically, often at a fixed five stars. That saves time on properties with high turnover, but a review that does not reflect what happened removes your contribution to the screening data every other operator relies on. If you automate host reviews, make sure damage claims, noise complaints and party bookings interrupt the automation.
